Fall Ball 2024 Information

SMNLL Fall Ball 2024 Registration NOW OPEN!

SMNLL Fall Ball 2024 General Information

SMNLL is excited to build upon our 2024 Spring Season by offering kids in our community a chance to play more baseball this fall.  Fall Ball runs from mid to late-August through early to mid-November and is very beneficial for skill development and continued growth in the game.

If your player loves baseball and wants to continue to build their skills, we strongly encourage playing Fall Ball with us.

Depending on registration numbers, Fall Ball with either be run independently as one league, or we will submit teams in a District-wide league competing against other teams within District 52. Games will be once a week either on Saturdays or Sundays.

REGISTRATION FEES

Our aim is to have playing youth baseball in San Mateo be as affordable for families as possible through fiscal responsibility and by the assistance of our generous sponsors each year and donations from our community.  The registration fee for Fall Ball is $225

If there are members of the community who are facing financial difficulties, please reach out to our League President. We believe financial hardships should not be a barrier to kids playing baseball in our community and will do our best to support our community members in need.

CLOSING OF REGISTRATION

Registration for Fall Ball closes on August 2, 2024.

SMNLL ELIGIBILITY:

Unlike our annual Spring season, there is no Little League boundary requirement to play in our league for Fall Ball. Fall Ball with San Mateo National is open to all San Mateo residents and non-residents.

COACHING:

Our league is run solely through the time and efforts of our volunteers.  Without moms and dads and other family members participating on a variety of levels, the league wouldn't be able to function and our kids wouldn't have the opportunity to play this great sport.  During the Fall our primary need of volunteers is for coaches of our teams. Volunteer registration will open at the same time as player registration.  If you plan to coach this Fall, please register as a Volunteer by clicking on the Volunteer Registration banner above.

CONSENTS:

When you register you will also be asked to acknowledge and agree to the SMNLL Code of Conduct, COVID-19 waivers, and HeadsUp Concussion acknowledgement.

LEAGUE DIVISION INFORMATION

For information about our divisions and corresponding age groups check out Our Divisions and our Baseball Age pages. In the Fall we receive a much smaller allocation of field time from the city, thus we unfortunately can't offer all divisions for Fall Ball.

For Fall Ball, it is recommended that you play in the division your player aims to play next Spring. We offer the following divisions this Fall:

  • Juniors (Current Baseball Age 12 - 14) - Players who were baseball age 12 year olds who played Majors this Spring or those who played Juniors this Spring are encouraged to play in the Juniors division in the Fall. Juniors features a mid-sized field (80’ bases, 54’ pitching, same as USSSA) which fits this age group. This size makes for a dynamic game, and is a great stepping stone to the full-sized field.
  • Majors (Kid Pitch - Current Baseball Age 9 - 11) - Baseball Age 9 through 11 year olds from this Spring who either played Majors, PCL or AAA are encouraged to play in the Majors division in the Fall.
  • AAA (Kid Pitch - Baseball Age 7 - 10) - Baseball Age 7 through 9 year olds who played AA (machine / kid pitch) this Spring are encouraged to play in the AAA division in the Fall. Baseball Age 10 year olds who do not plan to play in the Majors division next Spring can opt to play AAA this Fall.
  • AA (Coach Pitch - Baseball Age 6 - 8) - Baseball Age 6 through 8 year olds who played Single A (coach pitch) this Spring are encouraged to play in the AA division in the Fall. Baseball Age 8 year olds who do not plan to play in the AAA division next Spring can opt to play AA this Fall.  The AA division this Fall is a coach pitch division.
