February 2, 2009: Want To Be An Umpire? |
Attention umpires and potential umpires. The SMNLL is now accepting inquires to become an umpire for the 2010 Season. If you have umpired before, or if you are interested in becoming an umpire, please contact us through our website email:
smn@smnlittleleague.com
When you email us, please include your Name, Age, Email Address, Home and Cell Phone and any umpire experience you have. One of our Division Umpire Coordinators will then be in touch with you.
We have openings available in Majors, AAA and our new AA Division – if you are a 12 year old playing in the Majors, you are eligible to umpire in our new AA Division (games are on Sunday).
Umpiring! It’s a great way to stay involved in the SMNLL, see some game action from a different point of view, and earn a couple of dollars as well.
Please email us right away as our umpire clinics and the season are just around the corner!

SMNLL Spring 2010: A LIFETIME OF MEMORIES BEGIN HERE! |
The new board is in place, and the exciting planning for Spring 2010 has already begun, highlighted by the creation of a brand new division! As you read this, game plans for 2010 are already being created by our division coordinators, our umpire supervisors, our groundskeepers, our safety coordinator and all the members of this very enthusiastic board.
SMNLL is proud in 2010 to add its fifth division, “A”, to the journey of each little league player. Our A division will take the skills a player has learned in TBall and build upon them, while our AA division will be their first introduction to competitive baseball. Of course our AAA and Majors division will continue that baseball journey through the SMNLL.
You can register on line or in person (November 14, 21 and 24 – see the 2010 Sign Up Dates & Tryouts page for details).
Be sure to download your SMNLL Application (found under player info to the right) if you haven't received one in the mail so you don’t miss out on what promises to be our greatest season yet!

| SMNLL Spring 2010: WON’T YOU HELP CREATE SOME MEMORIES? |
The San Mateo National Little League is entering its 42nd season. The task of running an all volunteer league to provide coaching and games to almost 500 children ages 5-12 is nothing short of monumental. Here are just a few of the responsibilities our volunteers have:
Fields, Uniforms, Equipment, Managing, Coaching, Umpires (young people from our own community), The Batting Cage Project, The Snack Shack, Registration, Tryouts, Drafts, Team Assignment, Coaching Assignments, Scheduling, Opening Day Ceremonies, End of the Season Festival, City Tournaments….
As you can imagine, this effort not only involves a lot of time, but a lot of money to make this the best baseball experience we can for all our kids. We need your help!
