NeWS 2008 SEASON


April 29, 2009:    Thank You Parents of SMNLL
     We would like to thank everyone who supported our annual Parent Social last Friday night. We had over 120 people attend the event at the San Mateo Elks club. The food, drink and dancing were all fantastic. A special thanks from the league to Lisa Ratcliff and Caroly (Vana White) Kelly for putting on a wonderful party. The whole atmosphere was special and our special guest, District 52 Commissioner, John Christenson was impressed with the people of SMNLL and their support with the league. Again, a big thank you to all who supported this event.
 
April 29, 2008:    Board Members and Auxilary Members for 2009
     If you are interested in becoming a SMNLL Board Member or be a part of Ladies Auxiliary, please sumbit your name and contact information to smn@smnlittleleague.com. At our next meeting, our general meeting will take place. Any parent who is a manager, coach, team parent or on the Ladies Auxilary may attend and vote for the 2009 board. The 2009 board will begin service in October of 2008. Make a difference, come support our league and make a better league for the kids and the community.
 
April 25, 2008:    HOT WOK Night
     Do you like Chinese food? On May 5th, Hot Wok will donate money back to SMNLL for every dollar spent from SMNLL players and parents. They are located in the Marina shopping complex just south of Lakeshore and across Hillsdale Blvd (coming from Norfolk). So, get ready for Won Tons, Egg Rolls, Fried Rice and yes Ting Sao beer and spend lots of money at the Hot Wok on May 5th. It is for the kids!
 
April 16, 2008:    Roundtable gives back to SMNLL
     This Sunday, April 20th at Roundtable Pizza on 42nd Ave in San Mateo, from 3:00 to 9:00 pm, all pizzas that are ordered and you mention SMNLL, Roundtable will donate 20% of the price of the pizza back to SMNLL. So order many, many pies for consumption and help the league.
 
April 11 2009:    Parent Social. Get Tickets now, Great Time for All
     San Mateo Little League Parent Social 2008 Appetizers, buffet dinner, dessert bar featuring 'Keeping Our Day Jobs' - 80' & 90's dance music $35.00 per person Friday, April 25th 6:30- 7:30p.m. - no-host cocktail hour 7:30 dinner no-host bar and dancing to follow San Mateo Elks Lodge 229 W. 20th Avenue, San Mateo Sign-up and pay @ snack bar or through your team parent by Friday, April 18th * team with highest attendence in each division wins a prize! March 10, 2008:    Opening Week of Baseball
     This week marks the official opening of SMNLL baseball. The official opening ceremonies will be Saturday. The league wishes to thank all the Board Members, Ladies Auxiliary and all the parents and kids making San Mateo National Little League wonderful. PLAY BALL! and Good Luck to all teams
 
February 4, 2008:    Mandatory Umpire Meeting
     2008 SAN MATEO NATIONAL UMPIRE CLINIC To all prospective and returning umpires for San Mateo National Little League. The start of the 2008 season is just around the corner and it is time to hold our annual Umpire clinic. This clinic is mandatory for all umpires. The clinic will be held: Date: Friday February 15, 2008 Location: Beresford Recreation Center Time: 6:45PM -9:45 PM and Fundamentals clinic on Saturday February 16, 2008 Location: Lakeshore, South Field Time: 10:00AM -1:00 PM During this clinic, the umpires will receive umpire training provided by District 52 representatives. February 4, 2008:    AAA Make up tryouts
     AAA make up tryouts will be held Saturday, Feb 9th at Marten's field starting at 10:00 am sharp. If you don't attend, you may not play baseball this year.

January 31, 2008:    AAA Tryouts this weekend starting at 8:30
     Make up AAA tryouts will be held this weekend at Lakeshore Recreation Center. All kids who are not in majors, must tryout. Kids aged 9, 10, 11, and 12 by April 30, 2008 will need to tryout if not on a major team.
