So What's Going On?

Our registration is officially closed, and the only possible spots in SMNLL are on the waiting list for TBall or our A Division (ages 5-8).

If you have registered, please do not despair if you have not received a call from your team manager. The process takes several weeks after tryouts to reach a conclusion.

Following the Majors Draft the week of January 16, the 10 and 11 year old players not drafted enter the AAA draft along with the 9 year old try outs. The AAA draft is held the week of January 23. Following the AAA draft, the 9 year old players not drafted enter the AA draft along with the 7 and 8 year old try outs. The AA draft is held the week of January 31. Following the AA draft, the 7 and 8 year old players not drafted are placed into the A Division along with returning 6 year olds. Our first year 5 and 6 year olds are placed on TBall teams to begin their baseball experience with the San Mateo National Little League.

So do not worry if you see players practicing and haven’t received a call yet – as you see above the process to get through each age group takes several weeks from the first tryouts until the first practices for our youngest players.
